Help us continue Reverend Ike’s legacy by joining the Reverend Ike Resource Center — a newly established community resource center affiliated with United Church, dedicated to nurturing literacy, education, spiritual growth, and empowerment across the Beaufort community. Our mission is to create lasting programs that inspire youth, strengthen families, and equip residents to become sustaining, self-determined, and able to achieve their dreams.

We are actively recruiting volunteers, mentors, community affiliates, and supporters who are passionate about igniting the spark that helps individuals and families thrive. Opportunities include:

• Youth Mentors: Provide one-on-one guidance, academic support, and life-skills coaching for students of all ages

• Tutoring Volunteers: Assist with literacy, homework help, test preparation, and digital literacy workshops

• Program Facilitators: Lead after-school programs, college and career readiness sessions, financial literacy classes, or creative arts workshops

• Family Support Volunteers: Help run parenting workshops, family wellness events, and resource navigation (housing, benefits, healthcare referrals)

• Community Affiliates & Partners: Local businesses, faith organizations, nonprofits, and service agencies can collaborate on programming, sponsorships, internships, and job placement initiatives

• Event & Fundraising Volunteers: Support community outreach, special events, donor engagement, and grant research

• Administrative & Operations Support: Assist with reception, database management, communications, volunteer coordination, and facilities upkeep

We seek people who bring compassion, reliability, and a commitment to empowerment. All volunteers will receive orientation, role-specific training, and ongoing support. Background checks will be required for roles involving children and vulnerable adults.
