Eula’s Garden

The Rev. Eula M. Dent Eikerenkoetter, B.A., M.A., D.Sc.L.

In November 2026, Eula’s Garden at the Reverend Ike Resource Center was established in her honor. A sanctuary of beauty and serenity, it offers an elegant setting for community celebrations, reflective solitude and counsel, and an enriching outdoor classroom for all visitors.

Throughout nearly 60 years of ministry, Rev. Eula M. Dent Eikerenkoetter—“Mama Ike”—has exemplified loving service to God, others, and her community. The third of seven from Newport News, Virginia, she earned a B.S. in business education from Norfolk State College and an M.Ed. in special education from Boston College. She worked with the Catholic Guild for the Blind, teaching cane travel and sensory skills.

In 1964 she married Rev. Frederick J. Eikerenkoetter II. Together they built the United Christian Evangelistic Association and The United Church of Jesus Christ for All People, expanding globally through radio and television. She remains active in preserving Rev. Ike’s legacy, leading with charity, vision, and unwavering integrity.

Experience Eula’s Garden and the Reverend Ike Resource Center!

Since the Reverend Ike Resource Center is newly opened, we are still in the process of designing meaningful experiences and creating welcoming opportunities for the community to engage with the garden. We invite neighbors, gardeners, artists, educators, and anyone with a passion for growing together to join the Eula’s Garden Development Team — help shape planting plans, lead workshops, build pathways, and bring new ideas that make the garden a vibrant, inclusive space. Volunteer roles are flexible to fit your schedule and skills; to get involved, please contact our volunteer coordinator at admin@revikeresourcecenter.org and become an integral part of this living, community-centered project.
