Terms of Service
The Reverend Ike Resource Center
Effective Date: October 6, 2026
Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and The Reverend Ike Resource Center (“Resource Center,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and located at 1801 Duke St, Beaufort, SC 29902. Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN): 30-1496601. These Terms govern your access to and use of our websites, digital content, accounts, event registrations, donation and purchasing functions, communications, and related offerings (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Our Mission and Services
The Resource Center preserves, presents, and provides educational and archival materials relating to Reverend Ike’s life, teachings, and legacy. The Services may include articles, recordings, publications, exhibits, educational resources, events, donations, merchandise, and other nonprofit programs. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time.
Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, to create an account, make a purchase, or enter a binding agreement through the Services. If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it. You agree to provide accurate, current information, protect your login credentials, and promptly notify us at admin@revikeresorcecenter.org of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account.
Donations, Purchases, and Events
Donations support the Resource Center’s charitable purposes. Contributions may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law; donors should consult their tax advisers regarding their individual circumstances. Unless otherwise stated or required by law, donations are nonrefundable. Purchases, registrations, shipping, cancellations, and refunds may be subject to additional terms displayed at the time of the transaction. Prices and availability may change, and we may cancel or limit a transaction when reasonably necessary. Payment processing may be provided by third parties whose terms also apply.
Permitted Use
We grant you a limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to access and use the Services for personal, educational, and other lawful, noncommercial purposes, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, sell, license, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display, modify, create derivative works from, scrape, mine, or commercially exploit the Services or their content except with our prior written permission or as allowed by law.
Prohibited Conduct
• Use the Services for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or harmful activity;
• Infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
• Upload or transmit malware, malicious code, spam, or unauthorized solicitations;
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent an affiliation;
• Interfere with the security, operation, or integrity of the Services;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, data, or restricted areas;
• Use automated means to extract content or data without written permission; or
• Use the Services in a manner that burdens, disrupts, or damages them or other users.
We may investigate suspected violations and may restrict or terminate access, remove content, preserve information, or cooperate with lawful requests when reasonably necessary to protect the Resource Center, its users, or others.
Intellectual Property
The Services and their text, recordings, photographs, video, graphics, designs, compilations, and other materials are owned by or licensed to the Resource Center or their respective rights holders and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Reverend Ike, Rev. Ike, Thinkonomics, associated logos, and other names or marks may be owned by their respective rights holders. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership right or grants permission to use a name, likeness, trademark, copyrighted work, or other protected material except as expressly stated.
User Submissions and Feedback
If you submit content for display, publication, or use through the Services, you represent that you have the necessary rights and that the submission does not violate law or another person’s rights. You retain ownership of your submission but grant the Resource Center a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, display, distribute, adapt, and use it as reasonably necessary to operate, document, and promote the Services and our nonprofit mission. This license ends when the submission is removed from our Services, except for archival copies, previously distributed materials, and uses already undertaken. Ideas or feedback submitted without a separate written agreement may be used without restriction or compensation.
Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information are described in the Resource Center’s Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may link to or integrate websites, payment processors, platforms, content, or services operated by others. We do not control and are not responsible for their availability, content, security, products, terms, or privacy practices. Your dealings with third parties are solely between you and them.
Copyright Concerns
If you believe material available through the Services infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, send a written notice identifying the protected work, the allegedly infringing material and its location, your contact information, a good-faith statement that the disputed use is not authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act, and your physical or electronic signature. Send notices to: The Reverend Ike Resource Center, 1801 Duke St, Beaufort, SC 29902; email: admin@revikeresorcecenter.org. If the Resource Center maintains a designated agent under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the agent’s current public registration should also be consulted.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICES AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE RESOURCE CENTER DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, AND SECURITY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE FROM HARMFUL COMPONENTS. CONTENT IS PROVIDED FOR EDUCATIONAL AND INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES AND IS NOT LEGAL, TAX, MEDICAL, FINANCIAL, OR INVESTMENT ADVICE.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE RESOURCE CENTER AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AGENTS, AFFILIATES, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR USE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US FOR THE RELEVANT SERVICE DURING THE SIX MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR $100. THESE LIMITATIONS DO NOT APPLY WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Resource Center and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, affiliates, and licensors from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the Services, your violation of these Terms, your submissions, or your infringement of another party’s rights.
Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. You may request account closure by emailing admin@revikeresorcecenter.org. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create legal or security risk, fail to pay applicable charges, misuse the Services, or if the Services are discontinued. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including intellectual-property, disclaimer, liability, indemnification, and governing-law provisions—will survive.
Changes to the Services or Terms
We may modify the Services or these Terms periodically. Updated Terms will be posted through the Services with a revised effective date. Changes apply prospectively when posted or on any later date stated. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
Governing Law and Venue
These Terms and any dispute arising from or relating to them or the Services are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to applicable law, the state courts located in Beaufort County, South Carolina, and the federal courts having jurisdiction over Beaufort County will have exclusive jurisdiction and venue. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
South Carolina and Federal Law
These Terms are intended to operate under applicable South Carolina and federal law, including laws governing charitable solicitations, electronic transactions, consumer protection, intellectual property, and tax-exempt nonprofit activity. The Resource Center’s charitable solicitations will identify the organization and its charitable purpose as required by applicable South Carolina law. Nothing in these Terms waives rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be waived.
General Terms
These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and the Resource Center regarding the Services, except for additional terms presented for a specific transaction or program. If a provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization, transfer of assets, or operation of the Services. No person other than you and the Resource Center is an intended third-party beneficiary.
